SUBJECTS AND REPLICATION

This page contains information about subjects and replication, as it can get confusing at times!

SUMMARY: According to the console interactions and Olympus Transmitter tweets, subjects are human consciousnesses transferred into dinosaurs (and possibly strains/tribals/cannibals?) Subjects are you, the players! Replication occurs after a subject dies and the information they have collected throughout their life is recorded. A Morse code message defined replication as "the counter-balance to force evolution of profiles". Their consciousness is possibly altered before being transferred to another creature.

This information is from Khorne's console interaction. The console mentions that there are 106,638 profiles located "here". Earlier the console stated that the user was in Tartarus, so it is unknown if there are 106,638 profiles across all three Islands and Tartarus or just in Tartarus. (Keep in mind, subjects are the players, so there were possibly 106,638 people who had copies of the game at the time.)

This is taken from Khorne's console interaction. This is the most concrete evidence of literal transferring of consciousness.

This is taken from Khorne's console interaction. This shows that profiles are not allowed to "leave" until they have been completed. It is unknown what "completion" is, but it shows that they are forced to b created and die over, referencing "THE END IS NEVER NEAR" that loops when the player dies in-game. "The results will be merged also suggests that profiles form a collective consciousness that passes information down through the generations.

This information is from Khorne's console interaction. This shows that once a profile is completed, it is copied and studied in Tartarus.

These tweets show possible information about the early development of profiles. The bottom tweet might be referencing to what profiles experience in Gateway. The next tweet shows how profiles possibly spread information through a collective consciousness. (Keep in mind, Echidna is the neurotenic human strain that is considered to be the mother of cannibals.) The last two tweets show how the profiles were dehumanized when going through the process of completion. The profiles are easier to control if you use rage.

This shows how AE was able to control the profiles by making them want that AE wanted. (Using rage?)

This image was taken from a  gif transmitted from the Olympus Transmitter. The caption reads "The replicator is not not without its protectors." A camera is surrounded by shrines and hand prints, with a pentagram and human skulls below.
